With the Philips Design team, Nate worked as a product designer and art director for two mobile apps.

As an independent motion graphics &amp; visual designer, Nate worked with TP Vision (Philips Television) to create an animated visual language for their TV user interface.

Microsoft has been a big client of Razorfish. One of Microsoft's projects was KIN, a Windows Phone, launched in late spring of 2010.

Design & Animation Layouts

Worked as a Senior Designer, creating design layouts and animations of the phone.

Microsoft Kin Phone

Led the design of the site at Verizon Wireless.

The website won awards and even made the FWA shortlist.

TP Vision (who manufactures Smart TV sets under the name of Philips) was looking for a visual language for the animation of their user interface.

UI & UX Animated Videos

Worked to polish the UI and UX experience of watching television using Adobe After Effects to create animated videos which would show how the user-interface of the television would function.

After this completion, the videos were passed to developers in India to direct them in programming the final television sets.

Xeon is a brand of x86 microprocessors designed, manufactured, and marketed by Intel, targeted at the non-consumer workstation, server, and embedded system markets.

Created this animated microsite, showing the capabilities of Intel Xeon processors.

Web Design

Levi Strauss & Co. is a publicly owned American clothing company known worldwide for its Levi's brand of denim jeans.

Ad Campaign Visual & Motion Graphics Design

Worked as a visual and motion graphics designer to make an engaging shopping experience within a web-banner.

Converted static images into a working, delivery-ready, Flash banner. The idea was to at first look like a standard static web-banner, but after a few seconds, the woman in the ad would then start to dance.

This interactive web-banner highlights the key innovations in this wearable tech. The jeans are fitted with a cable that include headphones, and an interactive controller for music playback.

Albert Heijn needed an update to their self-checkout machines. The target was full check-out in less than 30 seconds for the average shopper.

UI Design

Creating designs that significantly decreased the footprint of their existing machine and to make the physical gesture of scanning more natural in the experience.

For the visual design, we focused on clarity and hierarchy of the interface. The system can still be operated easily by someone who does not understand Dutch.

The objective of a website was to allow a user to connect with friends through Facebook Connect, letting them compare styles, and making the whole assignment feel hand-made and personal.

Not For Sale is an international organization dedicated to fighting human trafficking by launching social enterprises in both the origins and target areas of human trafficking. Through apprenticeships, they help victims build a new life by providing skills training and work experience.

Helped produced promotional materials for social media, mailers, flyers, posters, and created their website for the Netherlands branch.

Was the point-person for designing their marketing materials when they opened a restaurant benefiting the organization in 2015, “Dignita”.

Using Flash to experiment in dynamic ways on the web. New elements are hidden behind a piece of "wallpaper", which can be peeled and picked off by clicking on it. It was build with the intention of creating a dynamic, interactive website that unravels like a story.

Second Story Interactive Studios in Portland wanted to install interactive kiosks in the museums.

This specific project was for the Library of Congress in Washington, DC and lasted for over six months.

Interactive Exhibition Design

The Great Hall is the entryway of the Thomas Jefferson Building, which houses the Library of Congress. Much of its great architectural detail is lost by being at a great distance. Through an interactive kiosk, visitors can navigate high-resolution images to see the small details.

Stitching the images together helped to counteract the issue of displaying large amounts of high-resolution photographs.

Many museums hide their artifacts behind thick walls of glass. By facing this challenge directly with the books of Thomas Jefferson, viewers can now look inside the books behind the glass, and flip their pages.

Lahash International partners with local ministries across East Africa to bring good news and holistic care to children in need.

Photography & Product Design

Sent out to photograph and film in Sudan, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Reached out further to create a style guide for the organization, and providing design and the production of several projects.

“Hope is Alive” is a magazine produced by Lahash International. Used rice and beans for this specific magazine cover.

Dodoma, Tanzania

In Dodoma, Lahash partners with Grace and Healing Ministry to provide aid for vulnerable kids living in poverty, with a majority of the children directly affected or infected with HIV/AIDS.

Kampala, Uganda

KAMPALA HOUSE was formed by Sudanese-born Susan Tabia, when she opened her own home to care for children made vulnerable from the raging Sudanese civil war. Today there are an average of 15-20 children at the home.

Chaos Theory was a mathematical concept that showed simple dynamic systems that can produce completely unpredictable results. Yet over time if it's mapped out, it will look as if there is a pattern.

Logo Design

"Fyre" software produces visualizations of chaotic functions. By manipulating the mathematical parameters of the software, visualizations were worked into a logo lockup.

Original concept fo the Silverlight logo.

VanMoof is on the cutting edge of cycling tech and style trends. During the collaboration, the work focused on themes of safety, security, style and convenience.

Product Design

Further conceptualisation, mockups, and presentations done with UX-centred designs.

Handmade.am's goal was to engage kids with positive experiences with technology with this project, which was first started by a large Swiss company.

During the brainstorm period, prototypes were tested with children regularly.

Curio is a program that taught basic programming. It’s Lego Technic meets Mr. Potato Head. Start by putting on either an input or output “widgets”. Each widget has a personal characterization to look like eyes, mouths and other features. The idea was to add as many as the child wanted, in different combinations, to achieve different results.

The concept of “Shapie McShapes” moves away from the engineering toy perspective to simplify the play experience. The idea was to still use a smart screen to set parameters for each “Shapie”, but the fun would happen offscreen.

The end product is a multi-use toy, customizable to be used as a prop in different games.
